Aluminium alloys from the Al-Mg-Si system are crucial because they can be used both as cast and plasticprocessed states. In this work, the aluminium alloy EN AW 6061 was used for testing. Microstructural changes during the ageing of the alloy were observed. During the ageing process, the samples were heated at different temperatures of 160 °C, 180 °C, 200 °C and 220 °C in different time intervals of 4 h, 5 h, 6 h and 7 h. The alloy has previously been exposed to a specific plastic deformation and heat treatment. The microstructure was studied using a scanning electron microscope, SEM.
